ACC HOSTS NOCHE DE FAMILIA ON SEVERAL CAMPUSES

By Diana Gorostieta Martinez

Throughout the month of October, three Noches de Familia were held at the Highland and South Austin campuses where Ascender students brought their families and mentors together to introduce one another. Before the presentation, everyone enjoyed a Mexican and Venezuelan dinner. Alejandra Polcik, the program manager, then talked to families about the mentoring component, ACC, ASCENDER, and other topics. The program was concluded by enjoying a fun version of Loteria with symbols like “El Riverbat,” “El Cafesito,” “Buc- ee’s,” and many more. This custom-made Loteria celebrates college students, Latinx, and Texas cultures.
