Southwest Texas Junior College hosted a Familia Luncheon on Friday, November 5 from 12:00 to 1:30 in the SWTJC Ballroom with most students bringing one or more of their parents. Dr. Chavez opened the luncheon by speaking about her educational journey to complete her degrees. Marysa Martinez, Ascender Advisor, presented a powerpoint detailing the student engagement components of the program. Dr. Randa Schell (SWTJC Chief of Staff) shared her journey to get her degrees. To end the luncheon, several students read their “I Am” poems and spoke about why they liked the program.
