STC STARR County Campus – Girls Discovering Math

By Rosa E. Gutierrez, STC – Mathematics Instructor

During the month of November, the Girls Discovering Math Club had a Food Drive to benefit Rio Grande City soup kitchen, Casa Esperanza. With the kindness and selfless donations from students and STC staff, the club had an amazing turnout. Not only were canned goods donated, but items such as: paper towels, detergent, and paper plates were collected. Donations were taken to Casa Esperanza on November 20 under the leadership of club advisor Rosa Gutierrez and club Vice President, Desiree Castillo.  Special thanks to members Jose Lopez and Stephanie Dominguez who helped load the items and drop them off at Casa Esperanza.

This month the club would like to highlight our newest club advisor Lazaro Garcia-Castilla and our newest vice-president Desiree Castillo. They are our newest additions to the Club Offices.
