PAC ASCENDER STUDENTS ATTEND AHSIE CONFERENCE

By Intern Keren Morin

Four Ascender students attended the Alliance of Hispanic Serving Institutions Educators (AHSIE) 2023 AHSIE Best Practices Conference, La Quinceañera: Celebrando Crecimiento, Past, Present, and Future from March 13-15 in San Francisco. The four students who attended were Lauren Flores, Dominique Robledo, Keren Morin and Angelica Juarez.

During this conference, Ascender students learned the importance of other perspectives and the need for networking. When asked what she brought back from the trip Lauren said, “we’re bringing a new option for new student orientation and ways to innovate our college through transparency.”

Palo Alto College and its department of student life sponsored the trip. “We are beyond thankful for all the opportunities our college offers, and we are quick to take them,” Dominique Robledo said.
