The Ascender Scholars Club attended the play, Luchadora at St. Edward’s University on April 13^th.  The play was written by San Antonio native, Alvaro Saar Rios. This play presented many female characters confronting traditional expectations in their fictitious, Texas border town. The main character, Lupita, reveals to her granddaughter that she has been a “Luchador” all of her life, and early on, masqueraded as a male wrestler.
