In a one-hour session on Saturday, November 18 from 10 am – 12 pm via Zoom, Ascender at the Austin Community College collaborated with an American Gateways representative to inform our community of immigrant rights and safety planning for situations involving the police or immigration officers. Everyone was welcome, with a request for respectful participation during the presentation. Encouraging questions, participants could submit them anonymously, providing students, faculty, and staff with an opportunity to learn in a friendly and inclusive environment.
