CTN CEO, CHAVEZ, JOINS WHITE HOUSE CALL ON HISPANIC INITIATIVE

CTN CEO, Dr. Maria Chavez was invited to participate in a call with President Trump and others, including Jovita Carranza, Administrator of the Small Business Administration on May 9th to discuss the Hispanic Prosperity Initiative prior to it being established by Executive Order on July 9. Dr. Chavez was invited to also be part of a second call with national leaders on the 9th, post the signing of the Initiative. The Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, housed at the U.S. Department of Education, will improve access to educational and economic opportunities for Hispanic Americans by promoting education and workforce development practices, fostering private and public partnerships, and advising the President and Secretary of Education on issues important to Hispanic Americans. This action will improve access to educational, training, and economic opportunities for Hispanic American students by promoting options to enhance personalized learning, family engagement, civics education, and pathways to in-demand jobs.
