CTN peer mentor, Rogelio Saenz, published an op-ed on the SCOTUS ruling on DACA which appeared in the San Antonio Express-News and was reprinted by Latino Rebels. Saenz felt the ruling was “not only a major victory for the DACAmented, but also for the country. While far from the ideal of creating a path to citizenship, DACA protected the DACAmented from deportation and authorized them to continue their studies and to work.”
He also published a short three-page research brief that is part of a collection of essays by scholars in Mexico and the U.S. for a volume titled Migration and Inequalities in the Face of COVID-19: Vulnerable Populations and Support Networks in Mexico and the United States. Saenz’ chapter focuses on immigrants in the U.S. during the pandemic.
