Rosalind Vinson

Dallas College
2025 Cohort

Rosalind Vinson is a passionate educator, mentor, and lifelong learner whose career bridges the analytical precision of engineering with the transformative power of teaching. With a foundation in civil engineering technology and over a decade of service in state and city government, Rosalind made a bold and purposeful shift into education—bringing real-world insight into every math lesson she teaches. For more than 14 years, she has empowered students at Dallas College through her roles as an instructor, instructional specialist, and now full-time mathematics faculty. Herclassroom is more than a place to learn numbers—it is a space where students discover confidence, possibility, and purpose. Whether designing innovative curricula, guiding new adjunct faculty, or leading with vision and heart, Rosalind’s work reflects her unwavering belief that education can change lives. Currently pursuing graduate mathematics coursework while holding advanced degrees in education and business, Rosalind embodies the very spirit she inspires in others: resilience, excellence, and a relentless drive to grow. She teaches not just with knowledge—but with care, curiosity, and a deep commitment to helping every student succeed.

When not teaching or studying, she enjoys spending time in ways that nourish creativity and connection. She loves watching movies, trying out new baking recipes, and hosting a monthly dinner for family and friends—a tradition that keeps her grounded and brings her joy. She is also passionate about giving back to the community and currently volunteers as an assistant coach for two middle school FIRST LEGO League robotics teams, where she helps students explore STEM through teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation.
