Florinda Rodriguez has been teaching in South Texas College’s Developmental Reading Department since 2002. She has served as Reading Program Chair since 2004, INRW Program Chair since spring 2015, and INRW Coordinator since fall 2020. She holds a Master of Education in Reading with certification as a Reading Specialist, as well as a certificate in Supervisory/Principal Management and a Bachelor of Arts in English. Before joining South Texas College, she taught reading for 10 years, giving her a total of 37 years of teaching experience. She is dedicated to instilling a love of reading in her students by modeling and demonstrating strategies that lead to deeper understanding of the reading process. She especially enjoys those moments when students discover that reading and learning can be fun. Outside of school, she enjoys reading and spending time with her pets.
