Dr. Rosa Rodriguez Alvarez

Dr. Rosa Rodriguez-Alvarez serves as the Regional Dean of Mental Health Counseling at Austin Community College (ACC) for the South Region District Mental Health Counseling team. She is a License Professional Counselor – Supervisor (LPC-S) with 22 years’ inpatient/outpatient experience as a bilingual mental health counselor/supervisor. She leads and supervises mental health counselors at the three South Region district campuses (Riverside, South Austin, and Hays). Dr. Rodriguez-Alvarez leads the programming, implementation, and oversight of the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program (DAAPP) for the ACC student population. Dr. Rodriguez-Alvarez successfully implemented the first CTN Program, now called ASCENDER at the ACC Riverside campus in the Fall of 2015 as the Counselor and Professor of the EDUC 1300 Learning Framework course. ACC has been recognized as a best practice example for the CTN Ascender Program. Dr. Rodriguez-Alvarez is an Austin Community College alumna with an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology. She graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Texas State University and obtained her Counseling Doctorate Degree from Liberty University graduating with High Distinction.
