Cynthia Miller

Cynthia Miller teaches English to the wonderful students of Dallas College. She began teaching English as a Second Language as a new college graduate, and has taught in California, South Korea, Colombia, and Texas. Her Master’s degree is in English with a TESOL emphasis, and her PhD, from University of Texas at Dallas, is in Humanities, Aesthetic Studies, Photography.

Cynthia believes that strong communities are vital to strong societies, and looks  for ways to build this in the classroom, the workplace, and her community. Cynthia currently serves as president of the board for Teatro Dallas’ and serves on the Buns and Roses fundraising committee that benefits the Richardson Adult Literacy Center. She is an artist and poet, and finds that her creative work, teaching, and service are not separate tasks, but enrich each other and weave together threads that strengthen her community. Above all, Cynthia strives to make the world bigger for everyone she interacts with.
