Jeffrey Mayo

Mayo earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas Tech University and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. Before joining the staff at UT Austin, Dr. Mayo worked in the Admissions and Orientation offices at UT San Antonio.

As Senior Academic Program Coordinator in UT Austin’s First-Year Experience Office, Dr. Mayo develops programs to support transfer students during their academic transition to campus. Informed and motivated by his own transfer experience, he aims to reduce friction in the transfer process and highlight the value these students add to their new institutions. His research interests include transfer student support, peer mentoring, Latinx community college student success, and online education.
