STC Pecan Campus Hosts Noche de Familia

South Texas College, Pecan Campus, hosted its annual Noche de Familia on October 11, with approximately 75 people including students and family in attendance. The guest speaker was Dr. Maria R. Tello, who started bodybuilding in her mid-40's. She has won several awards and had an upcoming show in San Antonio at the end of the month. She is a professor, mom and wife. She talked about her sacrifice to prepare for a show and how that applies as motivation to students in college.

Food for the event included traditional Tia Lola Taquiza. different Mexican guisos, cake and aguas frescas. Attendees played Pecan’s traditional loteria and gift bags with STC promotional items were handed out. CTN faculty who attended included Angelica Cerda, Juan Ochoa, Juan Ramirez, Santa Pena, Sandra Moreno, and Jon Herring. Florinda Rodriguez also supported the event.
