Sarah Stayton

Stayton earned her bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature and Master of Arts Degree in English Education from the University of Texas at El Paso.

She is currently an Advising and Completion Specialist and an Adjunct Professor of English at Austin Community College- Round Rock Campus.

Her experience includes being a Cultural and Linguistic Competency Specialist at the University of Texas at Austin where she guided social work programs in cultural and linguistic competency for youth and families within their community, utilizing the System of Care framework; Admissions Counselor at Grand Canyon University; a case worker for Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso; and YouthBuild Academy Education Coordinator at Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe where she taught at-risk students in completing their GED exams. In addition, she worked for Upward Bound, providing supplementary curriculum in literature, composition and study skills for first generation, college-bound high school students.
