STC MID-VALLEY STUDENTS CELEBRATE NOCHE DE FAMILIA
STC Mid-Valley Students Celebrate Noche de Familia
STC Mid-Valley campus Ascender staff, students and families celebrated Noche de Familia on October 25th. Approximately 150 people were in attendance. Esmeralda Macias, Sandra Moreno, and Arnold Canales presented information for the students and their families about the Ascender program as well as careers and the power of an education in the job market. The attendees also were served dinner and played games such as loteria with the opportunity to win a prize. Guest speaker Dr. Juan Ramirez did the honor of speaking about his own personal journey through the education system. Mr. Montez, campus administrator, opened the ceremony with wonderful words of encouragement.
Ascender student, Chantal Alcala said, “I am extremely glad I got to share this experience with my son. We got to eat great food and play a little bit of chalupa (not the intense kind). Although I did not win anything, we sure left with happy full bellies! Great from start to end.”
Another Ascender student, Destinee Perez, said, “I learned so much information I hadn't known before,” she commented. “Can't wait for more events like this.”
