CENTER FOR WOMEN WELCOMES S. EVANS TO BOARD
The Center for Women welcomes Stacy Evans, CTN Director of Student Engagement, to their board.
The Center for Women board members are volunteers who commit time and energy to amplify, advocate, and support women across the academy, with particular emphasis on student affairs educators.
SAVE THE DATE FOR TTT SPRING INSTITUTE
Save the Date for CTN’s TTT Spring Institute in McAllen on March 26-27 at the Hotel Casa de Palmas. The seminar begins Thursday at 8 am, and it ends at 11 am on Friday.
AAHHE NAMES DORAN AS FACULTY FELLOW
CTN Erin Doran was named a Faculty Fellow for the 2020 Conference of the American Association for Hispanics in Higher Education. The Faculty Fellows program allows faculty on tenure-track positions to focus on and find solutions for Latinx issues that impact higher education. Doran will attend the AAHHE conference in Costa Mesa in March.
STC INSTRUCTOR CERDA JOINS PHI KAPPA PHI
CTN STC instructor Angelica Cerda was inducted into the Texas A&M University-Kingsville chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi on November 19th.
SAVE THE DATE FOR ASCENDER SPRING SEMINAR
Save the date for CTN’s Ascender Spring Seminar which will be held March 27-28 at the Hotel Casa de Palamas in McAllen. The seminar begins Friday at noon with lunch, and it ends at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
CTN OFFERS NEW PROGRAM, NEXTED
CTN is offering a new program, NextEd, for customized campus coaching. NextEd is a program of full-day workshops for faculty and staff facilitated by Catch the Next’s network of innovators committed to transforming higher education for the better.
CTN CONDUCTS SITE VISITS
CTN began conducting fall site visits in late October and continued through early December.
TEXAS: ONE OF FOUR STATES FOR OECD STUDY
Last month Texas, along with three other states – Washington, Virginia and Ohio – was invited by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to participate in an analysis of the labor market relevance and outcomes of the state’s higher education system.
